Caleta de Fuste
Caleta de Fuste is a short drive south from the island’s
main airport. Its central location is ideal for exploring the island
but it’s facilities mean you don’t have to leave the
town if you don’t want to.
Caleta
has a large, family friendly, horseshoe-shape beach with calm waters.
The beach leads into the harbour, from where various excursions
can be taken – boat trips, submarine trips, diving excursions
etc. Various other watersports are also available.
Many of Caleta’s shops and restaurants are located together
in one area, just two minutes walk from our house. Restaurants are
varied and choices include Spanish, English, Chinese and Italian.
For the shoppers, the choice is varied with specialities including
leather, jewellery and pottery. There are also markets, banks, and
cash points!
For golfers, a five minute drive will take you to Fuerteventura’s
Main golf course, an 18-hole course which held the Spanish Open
this year (see www.fuerteventuragolfclub.com
or www.corralejogolf.com
for details). The Golf course area also houses a cinema, ten-pin bowling alley and shopping centre.
